Myths regarding hypnosis
It is important to know that what we think, we create. It's the Law of Attraction. It's just as important to know that each person has the ability to "allow" energy to change. When you "try", you create blockages, thus getting in your own way. However, when you "allow" energy to change, you get out of your own way. By doing so, you "allow" yourself to attract more positive energy. You can "allow" yourself to increase positive energy, personal talents and abilities.
Too many people believe they were not born with psychic or healing gifts. Each of us has part of our Creator within us. By design, we have the innate ability to create, which should always be guided by the Divine. It's similar to singing. Most people can sing, some better than others. But with practice, everyone improves their skills. It's the same with energy work.
Energy work includes positive thinking, psychic ability, healing ability, mediumship, etc. Many consider energy work to be a highly concentrated form of prayer.
There are many myths surrounding Past Life Regressions, energy work, and hypnosis in general. Here are a few:
Question: Can I get stuck in the past?
Answer: Absolutely not. It would be similar to asking if you could get stuck in a dream. The client is always aware of where they are and who they are. It’s similar to watching a movie. You may momentarily forget where you are because you are so focused on the movie. Yet, if someone were to ask you where you are, although you might find the question unnecessary, you would know exactly where you are.
Question: Would I reveal any current life secrets?
Answer: No. Again, you are always aware of who you are and where you are. Besides the fact that I’m not interested in anyone’s current life secrets, the only current life question that I might ask at the beginning of the relaxation process is to recall a happy childhood memory. The focus of the session is on recalling past lives, not current life.
Question: Will it hurt?
Answer: No. Often the client is in the “observer” position, fully aware of what is being recalled, but not feeling the memory.
Question: What if I was a really bad person before?
Answer: That’s not common. But if you were, remember that it was a prior life. Really bad people tend not to seek a Past Life Regression.
Question: Can you make me cluck like a chicken?
Answer: No, you are in complete control throughout the session. This question arises from stage entertainment using hypnosis. In those public situations, volunteers are carefully screened and only those who show potential for public entertainment are selected to be on stage. Past Life Regression is not public entertainment; therefore, those situations do not come up. Although I would never ask a client to do so, if a client were asked to do anything against their nature during a session, that person would likely open their eyes and express a rather negative response. Again, the client is in complete control of the session and they are fully aware of who they are and where they are the entire session.
